Jan-Willem Rozenboom speelt de Goldbergvariaties in Het Cenakel in Tilburg op 24 November 2024 (aanvang 14.00)

Ten years ago, Rozenboom made his first round of concert halls with this famous work by Bach. After ten years of maturing, the piece will “settle” even more and the performance will be even more balanced.
Moreover, his personal explanation of the piece is of particular added value. Rozenboom begins the recital with a 30-minute “lecture” in which he discusses the construction behind this piece, the historical context and his personal connection with this work. This introduction, with many musical examples and connections with contemporary music, makes the composition more accessible to the listener.

In 2015 he made his debut as a classical pianist with a well-received CD of this masterpiece. He was a guest in the very first broadcast of Podium Witteman. This resulted in an extensive concert series with the Goldberg Variations. Followed in 2019 by an extensive Schubert program and in 2023 by a Bach album with his own transcriptions.
De Volkskrant recently wrote about the latter album: “Rozenboom’s playing is accurate and tasteful and above all radiates tranquility.”
In May 2023 he made his debut in the Piano Nights series in a sold-out main hall of the Concertgebouw.

This is the only performance Jan-Willem will give of the Goldberg Variations in Tilburg. Be quick because there are only a limited number of tickets available!
